Meet Pippin
About six months ago I adopted a pony named Pippin, who was part of a cruelty case, and was lucky to have landed at Horses Haven. When he arrived, he was fearful and unsure of people.
He had been tethered to a tree for months without shelter or care— alone, trapped, confused and unable to escape.
He didn’t know kindness.
He didn’t know safety.
He didn’t know freedom... But slowly, something changed...

With patience, care, and love, Pippin learned that a human could mean comfort, that touch could mean trust, and that life could mean more than survival. He had an entire team of people cheering and supporting him (vet care, rehabilitation, trainer, 100+ volunteers) all showing kindness, which started his journey of recovery.
I now spend time with Pippin every day! He continues to adapt and grow, achieving goals and obstacles. He has become my best friend and a type of soulmate I didn’t know existed. It’s been such an honor watching Pippin develop from a fearful pony into such a confident, curious and goofy fella. His resilience is astonishing and the amount of happiness he brings into my life is unmatched. He inspires me and makes me want to do more to help other animals like him.
So … I’m training and running a marathon for all the PIPPINS out there, who are still waiting for someone to see them, fight for them, and choose them.
When my body aches, I think of him standing alone by that tree.
When I want to stop, I remember that he couldn’t walk away.
So I will keep running.
Every mile I run is for animals who don’t get a second chance unless someone creates it. It’s about proving that love can undo cruelty—and that no animal should ever have to suffer alone. Donations can help turn fear into healing and pain into protection!
Pippin inspired me to do this this fundraiser, so I’m running for every animal still waiting for their “happily ever after.” Please help Pippin and I make a difference 🐾💔➡️💛
Meet my Other Rescues
Tux is my 10-year-old tuxedo cat and my very first rescue. He was the last kitten left in a litter of seven, labeled as “distant” and “not good with others.” But within 24 hours of coming home with me, he chose me as his person—and he’s stayed by my side ever since. Tux is full of personality, quiet loyalty, intelligence and depth. Our bond is rare and special, and he will always be my first child and my soul-cat.
Ernie is my 5-year-old orange boy with the biggest heart and the most mesmerizing purr. He had a difficult start to life and came to me anxious, scared, blind in one eye, and struggling with chronic health issues. It took months for him to trust me, and even longer to uncover the cause of his medical challenges. After many vet visits, specialists, and answers, we learned he has a rare congenital condition called Short Colon Syndrome. Today, with the right food, supplements, and care, Ernie is thriving more than ever. He’s cuddly, gentle, and endlessly loving—my brave little survivor.
Together, Tux, Ernie and Pippin remind me every day why rescue is so powerful: sometimes the ones who need the most patience and love become the ones who give it back the most.
